Champion athletes aren’t just born - they are selected, trained, moulded and tested. Formed in 2018, we aim to bring the best athletes in Victoria together, combined with the best training and coaching possible to achieve excellence. We hone raw talent to maturity with quality coaching, a professional work ethic and a true love of the sport. Teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship - those are the hallmarks of Victorian Surf Sports Academy.

Our goal is to send at least two of our surf sports athletes to the Olympic Games in 2024 and to continue to develop Olympic calibre athletes into the future.  We also aim to have VSSA athletes achieve top 5 national finishes in surf lifesaving.

Note: Athletes from any club are welcome to participate in the VSSA program.  There is no cost and a STRICT non-poaching policy (no athlete will be approached by a coach regarding changing clubs).
